Mercury rules communication, thinking, information, plans, technology, travel, contracts and the way we make sense of what is happening. So when Mercury turns retrograde, it is not necessarily that everything suddenly goes wrong, it is more that we are being asked to slow down and look again.

Re-read it, re-check it, reconsider it, revisit the conversation, make sure you actually understood what was being said. This is why Mercury retrograde can bring crossed wires, changed plans, delays, misunderstandings or things resurfacing that need another look.

Use this as your little pause point before you send, decide, book, react or assume. You do not need to stop your life. Just slow down enough to check what is actually true.

Before You React

Have I checked the facts? Am I responding to what was actually said, or what I think it means? Could there be missing context? Do I need to answer this now?

Before You Send

Re-read the message. Check the name, date, time, link and attachment. Make sure the tone says what you think it says. If it feels emotionally charged, save it and come back.

Before You Decide

Am I choosing from clarity, or because I want relief? What information might still be missing? Has anything changed since I first made this plan? Can I give this another day before locking it in?

Before You Sign, Book or Buy

Read the fine print. Confirm cancellation, refund and change policies. Double-check dates, addresses and payment details. Ask the question you are assuming the answer to.

Technology + Admin

Back it up. Save copies of anything important. Check that uploads actually uploaded. Do not assume the message, form or invoice went through.

Conversations

Ask: “What did you mean by that?” Repeat important details back. Get agreements in writing. Clarify instead of filling in the blanks.
